How it works
Using lights and digital displays installed on shelving units, bins, or racks, workers are guided visually in the selection of items from storage locations (Pick-to-Light) or in the placing of items into the correct bin, tote, or shelf, typically for order consolidation or packing (Put-to-Light).
Pick-to-Light Unpicked
When a picking order is received from the Warehouse Management System (WMS), it sends the information to the Pick-to-light system.
Lights next to the bins or shelves light up, guiding the worker to the exact location. Different colors can be assigned to different workers.
Once picked, the worker confirms by pressing a button or scanning a barcode, and the light turns off. Sensors can also be used for auto-detection.
The worker moves onto the next light until the order is complete.

On arrival at a central sorting area, each item is scanned.
